How to Install Fonts

Everybody knows that I love fonts and I like to collect them. The internet is a great source for downloading fonts. Resist the temptation to download the thousands available. But, when you find one that you like,  follow these easy steps to install them:

1. From the web site where you found the font, click on the Download button for the specific font.
2. Save the font to a designated file that you can create and call Downloaded Fonts. You can create this file in any location, even on the Desktop.
3. Right-click on the folder that contains the font and select Extract All.
4. A new folder is going to be created automatically with the same name as the original zipped folder. Click on that folder and look for the file that contains the font. Right-click on it. Select Install.
5. Now your font is installed and ready to use.
6. You can delete the .zip file.

Another way to install a new font is:

1. From the web site where you found the font, click on the Download button for the specific font.

4. Press the Start button.
5. Choose Control Panel.
6. Choose Appearance and Themes (for Windows XP) or Personalization (for Windows Vista).
7. Choose Fonts.
8. Open the File menu, and choose Install New Font.
9. Locate the folder that contains the saved font file(s).
10. Select the font(s) that you want to install, and select Install.
11. The font(s) is now installed and ready for your use.
