How to Make a Mat for your Letters or Welded Phrases with Inkscape

Sometimes you want to create a mat for your individual letters or for your welded words.  With Inkscape is very easy! Just do the following:

1. Type your text.
2. Go to Outline View: View, Display Mode, Outline.
3. Click on Edit, Duplicate.
4. Click on Path, Outset. Viola! you have a mat. You can repeat the process as many times as you want if you want the mat bigger.
5. Now your mat is going to be in front of the original word. So, you need to click on it to select it and choose Object, Lower to Bottom.
