I’ve received a question on how to add your own files to My Library in Robo Master. This is a little controversial because when you add too many files to My Library, this is going to run more slowly. Plus, you can access all your non-Silhouette store files through File, Thumbnail Browser. However, I want to answer the question:

  1. Create or download a .gsd file. If you want to see the thumbnail of the image and not just the name, you need to have a  .gif version of the file, making sure the picture is very small (like 100 x 100 pixels)
  2. Create a copy of the file if you want to keep the original .GSD.
  3. Right-click on the second file and Rename it with an extension .GST. Right click again on the file and choose Cut.
  4. Go to C: Program Files, ROBO Master, Templates, right-click in the window and choose Paste. You will see the new file with the extension .GST
  5. Go to C: Program Files, ROBO Master, QK View, Thumbnail and save the thumbnail version of your image there. Remember, the thumbnail has to be very small.
  6. Open your ROBO Master, select New file and click on My Library. Your thumbnail should show there.

This is an option that you may like to experiment with. I have all my non-Silhouette store files in a separate location, a Cutting Files folder, where I created sub-folders with all the categories that are significant for me. Even those have sub-folders, in order to keep my files more organized. I hope this helps.

I love this information, Thank you! I do however am wondering if you know how to orginize my 1000s of files in my library… on “my library” I crated subfolders and when I drag a file/pict to the folder, it still remains in my library (it does create a copy in the file), but I have 1000s and was hoping for an easier way or for the file to actually move…. I dont know if I am making sense???

Gaby: Remember that your files are stored in the Templates folder. You are not moving or copying files, only a shortcut of the file. You are not making duplicates of the images when you drag them from the main view to the specific folders that you created to organize them.
At the time, this is the way that ROBO Master is allowing you to organize your files and still see all of them when you open My Library at the beginning.
I hope this helps. Take care.
